Product Description All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of victory are grim. Kronos's army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan's power only grows. While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it's up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time. In this momentous final book in the New York Times best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy's sixteenth birthday unfolds. And as the battle for Western civilization rages on the streets of Manhattan, Percy faces a terrifying suspicion that he may be fighting against his own fate.

It is an amazing book I couldn't put any of them down. I got 2 different sets my friend ruined the paperback one so I gave her all the 1st set and then bought the whole series in hardback. Then bought extra books like Demi-gods and monsters, Demi-god files, and The Guide book. I truely tresure these books. I love the author he is very talented. I reconmend this book for ages 9-14. The final book-The Last Olympian August 29, 2010 Deborah Meister This book continues and supposedly ends the saga of Percy Jackson. He has matured from a 12 year old to the ripe age of 16, and his character has matured consistently with his chronological age. Roirdan has superbly detailed the character traits of the Olympic gods, as well as the newest set of monsters. I will miss reading more about Percy.
Better than the last Potter book! August 25, 2010 J. J Woehr (Lindenhurst, NY United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I might get hate mail for this, but Rick Riordan is a better writer than J.K Rowling. She killed off beloved characters in the last book and seemed to have fun doing it. While the last 3 books lacked the aspects of what made the franchise a hit in the first place. They are darker and not as magical or funny even. "The movies have even been less fun to watch since the first 4. The Half Blood Prince was the most moody and depressing of them all."
With that said, Rick Riordan never forgets what made his franchise fun to read in the first place. Riordan might have stole some things from Rowling and there would be no Percy Jackson if there wasn't a Harry Potter first. You'll find many things that might remind you of Potter as you read these books, but in a way these books are more satisfying and fun to read never less.
Take this last book for example, it's darker with some characters dieing but Riordan never goes too far with who he kills off, unlike Rowling. While there's still room for plenty of humor and magic through all the non-stop action. That's something the last Potter book was missing. I just remember many beloved characters dieing, I don't remember much humor or fun even.
